E.L. Pruitt Co. is seeking an experienced, licensed plumber to serve as a VDC coordinator and detailer for the plumbing trade. This position will work directly under the VDC manager and support the plumbing team in the planning,
coordination and execution of plumbing projects. This role involves using Building Information Modeling (BIM) technologies to enhance project efficiency and accuracy. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in plumbing systems and VDC/BIM tools. This position is primarily office based but does require the ability to complete onsite fieldwork as needed.

Qualifications

  • Assist in development and implementation of VDC processes for plumbing projects.
  • Collaborate with construction team, project managers, engineers, general contractors and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely completion of VDC deliverables.
  • Create, manage and detail 3D models of plumbing systems using BIM software including Autodesk Revit, Autodesk Navisworks and a variety of BIM software.
  • Coordinate with design and construction teams to resolve clashes and optimize plumbing system layouts.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed project documentation, including models, fabrication drawings, installation drawings and as-builts.
  • Assist in the review and analysis of project plans and specifications to identify potential issues and opportunities for improvement.
  • Review project schedules to ensure timely deliverables.
  • Monitor project progress and report on key performance indicators.
  • Provide technical support and training to team members on VDC/BIM and total station software and processes.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of field experience as a journeyman plumber. Additional experience in VDC/BIM and foreman experience is a plus.
  • Must have a current plumbing license.
  • Proficiency in BIM software such as Revit and Navisworks preferred.
  • Must have a strong understanding of plumbing systems, med gas systems and construction processes.
  • Must have a thorough understanding of the Illinois Plumbing Code and medical gas code.
  • Ability to read, comprehend and interpret technical literature/writing, blueprints and schematic drawings.
  • Ability to define problems, assess options and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Must be a self-starter who can work independently or collaboratively in a team environment and thrive in a fast past, multi project and deadline-driven environment.
  • Experience with Trimble total station is a plus.
  • Must be detail oriented and possess strong organization and communication skills.
  • Candidate must have a desire for perpetual continuing education, training and software development.
  • Must be proficient in computers and have a working familiarity and proficiency in MS Office and Bluebeam.
